    The seed of the dream emerged from my journey to Hong Kong at the age of 8.Hong Kong, with its unique historical background, is home to residents from all over the world. It is Hong Kong’s diversification of global culture and good social order that attract me most. I have made up my mind to make my way to the dream destination, HKU, which is generally acknowledged as the best university in Asia where advanced educational philosophies, such as” the whole person education” are the main focus. This not only adapts to my personal character but broaden my horizon with an English-teaching atmosphere as well.
    During my trip to the UK, the strong curiosity drives me to walk into every corner of the college in Oxford, however, what I get surprised most is the perfect preservation of the old architecture despite the long history. Compared to the situation in UK, China still has a long way to go, reflected from its poor architecture preserving system and the lack of cultural consciousness. Therefore, I deeply realize the importance of protecting the precious heritage and decide to devote myself into the Bachelor of Arts in Conservation Studies.
    I grow up with a great sense of social responsibility. I used to be a volunteer served in the old people’s home. Every minute when I talk with those poor people do I find how much care and help they need from the society.(想用一个every time的倒装句型,好像有些问题) Thus, with the courage and the persistence ,I consider it my responsibility to build up a better life for弱势群体。The Bachelor of Social Work in HKU provides me with a perfect platform to achieve my dream.

    I’m a student of Zhejiang, hoping to study at Hong Kong University. I’m going to introduce myself and reasons for the choice as follow.
    Above all, the strength is one of the major aspects to encourage me to apply for HK University. The self-control, extensive social skill, high sense of responsibility, strong organization ability is what I acquired from my high school. I have served as vice-minister of propaganda department of students’ union for a year. This precious experience enhances my ability of organization and social contacts,and makes me handle the balance between work and study well. What’s more, I have expansive interests such as painting, writing and playing volleyball. So, up till now I have participated in various activities and all gained good results. With all this things I have learnt, I truly find my connotation become rich and rich.
    When comes to the reason why I choose HKU, the first thing occurs to me is the atmosphere. Hong Kong’s inherent Chinese and western culture has a powerful attraction on me. Only studying at HK, can I broaden my horizons at a more open and freedom stage. Anticipating a collision of concept, I cannot wait to take this challenge, because young heart will never satisfy.
    In my eyes, HKU is a university with profound historical culture and free academic exchange. I’m a student of arts, and as far as I know, Hong Kong University’s faculty arts are pretty famous, for it is one of faculties that have the longest history and largest scale. All the advantages are just great enough to light my passion.
    The youth is full of unexpected encounters, and I want to have a beautiful encounter with you—Hong Kong University.

2. 香港大学(HKU)授课型研究生推荐信以往是网上提交还是邮寄的?会不会给推荐老师打电话?

有推荐人签名的正本一定要邮寄的,副本可以上传到申请网站。新生入取的工作量比较大,可能不会逐个打电话,但是有这种可能。但是一旦经确认出现和推荐信内容不符的情况,可能直接被取消资格。
截至2018年11月,香港大学有十所学院以及研究学院,教职员7795人,在校学生29099人,在经济、金融、会计、生物医学、牙医、教育学、人文学科、法学、语言学、政治学与社会科学等领域展现出较强的科研实力。

1、教学建设
港大以小班教学为主,人数不多,课堂内容详实,且十分注重师生间的互动。得益于班级的大小,在课堂上教师随时都会向学生提问,他们非常鼓励学生问问题。
同时,团队协作成为日常学习中的重要一环,在香港大学的课程中,需要团队共同合作完成的比例很大,这对提升交流、合作能力十分有效。
港大没有强制性要求学生上课的措施,更不靠点名保证出勤率,保证学生出席率最好的方法就是提升自己课程的质量,自然地吸引学生来上课。港大采取的是渐进式的教学模式,淡化了期末考试的重要性;
为了更加合理地评价一名学生的水平,老师平时会留一些很有针对性的作业,其目的是考察学生跟随课程学习的进度。这种渐进式教学方式既可以保证学生平时的学习质量,又给了学生充裕的自由可支配时间。
2、学校建筑
港大十分重视评教,这也是港大的老师教学质量普遍比较高的原因之一;对于一门课程,不仅主任老师要被评教,助教也要被评教。
学校的管理部门分为两个部分:一个是负责学术的教授和老师,一个是负责服务学生的管理部门,两个部分平行运行,各司其职,互不干涉;这种模式某种程度上保障了教师的教学、学术自由性。
2012年起,香港大学采用了新的四年制学位课程。新课程架构将赋予学生更灵活、多样化且多层面的选择,以汲取知识。
新课程架构除有助学生建立强大的本科及跨学科知识基础外,更着重培训学生的批判性思考与独立思想能力,并协助他们掌握有效的沟通技巧,成为出色的团队成员,最终成为想象力与创造力兼备的领袖。新课程中引进了”核心课程“和”体验学习“两大模式。
其中,”核心课程“主要有科学与科技、人文学科、全球问题和中国研究四大主题,而各个学院设立的多种”体验学习“包括了诸如工作实习等让学生体验真实专业领域工作,提供一种以学生为中心的卓越学习经历,提供与全球共融且具国际视野的大学教育。

3、对外交流
1998年,香港大学创立全球学生交换计划,为本科生创造在世界各国生活和学习的机会,并予所有交换生以支援 。香港大学同时还是Universitas 21联盟的创始成员,这个联盟旨在推进各个成员间的交流合作并促进自身的国际化水平。
2012年4月26日在上海复旦大学光华楼,“香港大学千人中国内地交流计划”启动仪式举行。
“香港大学千人中国内地交流计划”是港大2012年着力发展的新项目,其缘于李克强总理出席港大百周年校庆典礼时,宣布由2012年开始,中央政府会成立专项资金,每年支持1000名港大学生和老师到中国内地去学习、考察和开展科研工作,加强中港两地教育交流。
2013年2月1日,香港大学与浙江大学、清华大学签署合作草案,加入“感染性疾病诊治协同创新中心”,与两所大学和中国疾病预防控制中心等中国内地的科研单位和学者,在人才交流﹑研究生培养﹑分享研究资源等多方面展开合作。
